Course Objectives and Outline
Recently, disparity issue between urban and rural regions is becoming a serious social problem not only in Japan but also in many other countries like China and Europe. We will try to visit many companies in Kochi area and have an interview with a top manager or working people in the local business, to research regional developing issues. This is a good training to learn about a manner and a methodology of field-work in research, so that we recommend many graduate students to have this class for establishing their own research.
Basically, the theoretical preparation and discussion based on the interviews will be done in the class of “Theory of Promoting Regional Industries.” Therefore, the student who will take this class is suggested to take the theory class also, i.e., these two classes are strongly recommended to be taken together.
