Details1 【Objective】 Presentation skill is very important in modern society. However, very few people understand the true meaning of presentation and what really is the effective presentation. Effective presentations are still rare. With an appropriate method of practicing presentation and a step-by-step training, everybody can be an effective presenter. Since this course has been designed for EFL learners, some basic speech training will be given. In addition, speech delivery training will also be given so that the students will be able to do presentation with confidence. If you can successfully convey your message to the audience, and build a mutual understanding with them, you will be able to promote your self-actualization. I hope all of you will attain self-confidence and personal growth by developing your presentations skills.  
Details2 【Lesson Procedures】 ◇This course has two stages.   Stage 1 Basic training in English presentation   Stage 2 Projects: group presentation & in-class presentation contest ◇The basic procedure of each class is :   1 Mini lesson (Short lecture on basic presentation skills)   2 Mini presentation (Practice with basic presentations skills)   3 Individual Activities and Conferencing   4 Sharing ◇This class uses a workshop format. Students are expected to actively participate all the practices, workshops and discussions.

Details4 【Course Design】   This is a one-semester course with 15 classes. Week 1 Orientation “ What is a presentation?” Weeks 2 to 13   Stage 1 Basic training in English presentation ○Mini lessons Topics to be covered : planning a presentation, knowing the audience, collecting materials, editing,delivery (sound, voice, rhythm , eye-contact..) etc. ○Mini presentations -provide opportunities to use the presentation skills taught in mini lessons -short presentation using“show and tell”format -peer evaluation will be used to improve presentation skills   Stage 2 Projects 1)Project 1 Group presentation Introducing KUT to foreign investors. (3 classes) 2)Project 2 Final presentation (5 classes) Weeks 14 ,15 Presenter’s Day - In class presentation contest *The best presenter will be awarded.  
Details5 【Evaluation】 ◇Method  No written test ,no report will be given. Assessment will be made basing on the following three points according to the three point scale(3:Excellent 2:Good 1:Poor). Assessment details will be explained in the orientation.   Point 1 Presenter’s notebook (including materials gathered, drafts, memos etc.)   Point 2 Oral Presentation Handbook(collection of materials and worksheets, records of self-study)   Point 3 Final presentation (Final assessment will be made by integrating students’ self-evaluation and teacher’s evaluation) ◇Criteria 3:Excellent (the goals are successfully achieved) 2:Good (the goals are partially achieved) 1:Poor (the goals are not achieved) ◇Grades  F:all 1s (1:Poor)  C:two 1s (1:Poor)  B:two 2s (2:Good) or one of each (1:Poor) (2:Good) (3:Excellent)  A:two 3s (3:Excellent)  AA:all 3s (3:Excellent)  
Details6 【Textbook】 No textbook is used. Instead, students are asked to write and publish their own presentation handbooks by putting all the materials compiled in the lecture.
