Areas of specialization Vibration engineering
Laboratory/research office Vibration Engineering Laboratory
This laboratory is engaged in the development of new vibration analysis and visualization measurement techniques for use in the design of high-performance automobiles and structures. By combining conventional vibration analysis techniques with information science methods such as compressed sensing and Koopman operators, the lab members have succeeded in extracting and controlling characteristic vibrations, and visualizing and measuring minute vibrations (several micrometers) over a wide range (several meters), with the aim of achieving even higher performance. We are also studying acoustic analysis and self-excited vibration of fluids.
