Recent progress in nanotechnology observation techniques and fabrication processes allows us to incorporate novel electric and photonic properties of nanomaterials, which result directly from those materials' size and structure, in our design work. Aiming to contribute to the resolution of global and local energy issues, we have applied our new-found ability to control the size and structure of nanomaterials to the development of photonic metamaterials for high-efficiency energy devices.
