Evolutionary Modeling Laboratory
This laboratory is working to uncover the evolutionary origins of human behavior and societies through the use of mathematical models, and to apply the outcomes to the design of sustainable societies. In particular, we aim to develop novel mathematical techniques for the modelling and analysis of the interaction of genetic evolution with the dynamics of cumulative culture as a public good, or with the dynamics of renewable and exhaustible resources. Mathematical analysis and computer simulations of such models can reveal the evolutionary limit of human altruism toward future generations and can contribute to the design of sustainable societies. |
