Business history is the study of how current business systems came to have their present form. That is, it analyzes the interaction between a company and a social setting from a historical viewpoint. In this lab's seminar, the main themes are (1) entrepreneurial activity in Japan: case studies of entrepreneurs' active conduct of business and its contribution to management development in Japan; and (2) corporate activity in Japan: gathering fundamental knowledge about business administration and performing case studies of the administrative behavior of companies, especially related to business growth and competitive strategy.
