KUT has signed MOU and Student Exchange Agreement with University of Gadjah Mada, Indonesia

On Oct 16th, 2018, Kochi University of Technology (KUT) and University of Gadjah Mada (UGM), known as a leading national university in Indonesia have signed the Memorandum of Understanding and Student Exchange Agreement at UGM conference room in Jogjakarta. This is the 48th academic exchange agreement for KUT.


At the signing ceremony, KUT President Prof. Masahiko Isobe, who paid the first official visit to UGM, expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the people of Central Sulawesi who were affected by the big earthquake and Tsunami.

"In terms of natural disaster, Indonesia and Japan have a lot of things in common. It is beneficial for both sides to cooperate and work together to solve these problems", Isobe said.

UGM Rector, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono thanked President Isobe for his concern and added "To sign the agreement in the year of 60th Anniversary of Indonesia-Japan diplomatic relations is meaningful. This is the great opportunity for both institutions to make the utmost efforts to cooperate in the various research fields of science and technology".

After the signing ceremony, Prof. Shinichiro Sakikawa introduced the outline of the KUT Special Scholarship Program for Doctoral students, Prof. Makoto Iwata briefed the new field of computer science by using fMRI, and Prof. Taksu Cheon explained his research achievement of exploring uncharted dark corners of Quantum mechanics.
