Professor Fujita selected for Highly Cited Researchers 2018 !

Highly Cited Researchers 2018 was released by Clarivate Analytics on November 27, and Prof. Takeshi Fujita of Kochi University of Technology's School of Environmental Science and Engineering was selected in the cross-field category.

Clarivate selects Highly Cited Researchers on the basis of citation analysis to identify papers that are influential worldwide. This year approximately 4,000 researchers (including Nobel laureates) from 21 fields of natural science and social science were listed. Among them, 90 researchers from Japan were selected.
The cross-field category, in which Prof. Fujita was selected, is new this year; research in this category has influence in multiple fields.

Prof. Fujita's Microstructual Control Laboratory is conducting research towards the development of solid catalysts, 3D printers, and novel nanoporous metal materials. With further progress, this research is expected to lead to applications and developments in other fields including energy and the chemical industry, such as the creation of a revolutionary catalyst which efficiently activates methane (which is abundantly present in natural gas), unlimited structural control of materials, and expression of multifunctional material (with electrocatalytic and thermoelectric properties).

Prof. Fujita commented, "I am very honored, but I think there is much more work to be done to achieve full elucidation. I am encouraged by this selection, and I will continue to do my best."
