Kochi University of Technology (KUT) has been ranked for the first time in "THE World University Rankings 2021," a list released by the U.K. educational publication Times Higher Education (THE).

KUT was recognized for our research capabilities, receiving a particularly high score for "Industry income (knowledge transfer)." This is an indicator of the amount of funds obtained from industry per academic staff member, with its score calculated based on income of research expense received from industry.

Among domestic public universities, Kochi University of Technology, received high rankings of 3rd in the area of research and 2nd in the area of international outlook, was recognized for its efforts in "research achievements which contribute to the future of the world" and "cultivation of global human resource".
