History

June 18, 1992 The Investigation Committee for the Conception of Kochi Prefectural Technical University was established．
April 1, 1993 The Planning Committee for the Technical University was established.
November 5, 1993 The Preparation Committee for the Foundation of Kochi University of Technology was established．
January 25, 1995 Establishment of the Preparation Foundation for Kochi University of Technology was approved by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture．
December 20, 1996 The formation of the private education corporation Kochi University of Technology was approved by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture．
April 1, 1997 Kochi University of Technology was opened．
April 1, 1999 Graduate School of Engineering was opened．
October 1, 1999 Research Institute of KUT was opened.
April 1, 2000

KUT Research Collaboration Center was opened.
March 8, 2004 The construction of Education and Research Building C was completed.
August 1, 2006 Research Center for Social Management was opened.
April 1, 2008 School of Management was opened.
April 1, 2008 Research Institute for Nanodevices was opened.
April 1, 2009 The formation of the public education corporation Kochi University of Technology was approved by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
April 1, 2009 School of Systems Engineering, School of Environmental Science and Engineering, and School of Information were opened reorganizing Faculty of Engineering.
April 1, 2009 Research Organization for Regional Alliances was opened.

April 1, 2011

 Research Institute for Nanotechnology was opened.
October 1, 2013 International House was completed.
April 1, 2015 KUT was integrated with Kochi Prefectural Public University Corporation.
April 1, 2015 KUT moved its School of Management to the Eikokuji campus in Kochi City.
April 1, 2015 School of Economics & Management was established.
July 1, 2017 Research Institute for Future Design was opened.
April 1, 2019 IoP Promotion Center was opened.
