Application Documents

- ALL items listed below must arrive at the International Relations Section by the specified deadline date. The documents submitted will not be returned.

2. | Original bachelor's degree academic transcript in English/Japanese (Include date of issue) Photocopy or English translation should be verified and bears FRESH school stamp by the university from which you received (or will receive) your bachelor's degree or by a notary public. An academic transcript should list all the courses you studied in each year, the marks or grades you achieved for each course and the credit rating and the grading system of your university. *If you are still in the program, submit a provisional academic transcript. |
3. | Original graduation certificate from your bachelor's program in English/Japanese Photocopy or English translation should be verified and bears FRESH school stamp by the university from which you graduated (or will graduate) or by a notary public. *If you are still in the program, submit a certificate issued by the university which states the expected date of graduation from the bachelor's program. |
4. | Research outline (A plan of your proposed research at KUT and summary of research that you have conducted, approximately 1 page) in English |

Two signed recommendation letters in English/Japanese. |

Original certificate of health in English/Japanese issued within the past 6 months |
7. | Verified original graduation certificate in English/Japanese issued by each school (elementary school to university) which attest that you have completed or will complete 16 years of formal educational program equivalent to that of Japan before enrolling in the master's program at KUT. * If such certificates are not available, verified original certificate in English issued by the university from which you have graduated or at which you are still studying, to show that you have completed, or will complete, 16 years of formal educational program equivalent to that of Japan before enrolling in the master's program at KUT. |

*After you are admitted, we may request a copy of your passport. If you don't have one, a copy of any identification document may be requested (e.g. copy of family register, citizenship certificate, or birth certificate.)

3. | Original master's degree academic transcript in English/Japanese (Include date of issue) Photocopy or English translation should be verified and bears FRESH school stamp by the university from which you received (or will receive) your master's degree or by a notary public. *If you are still working towards your master's degree, submit a provisional academic transcript. *In case that an academic transcript is not available because the degree program does not offer course work but only research based, please submit a certificate issued by the university which states the program is research based. (e.g. current enrollment certificate). Please let us know in case you cannot prepare such a certificate. *If you acquired or will acquire two master's degrees or a higher degree, please submit academic transcripts for all the degrees you acquired or will acquire. |
4. | Original master's degree certificate in English/Japanese Photocopy or English translation should be verified and bears FRESH school stamp by the university from which you received your master's degree or by a notary public. *If you are still working towards your master's degree, submit a certificate issued by the university which states the expected date of acquisition of your master's degree. Use KUT official form. * If you have already received your master's degree, a) The certificate should clearly state that you have received your master's degree. Completion of a master's program is not sufficient. b) Submit your FINAL (OFFICIAL) degree certificate. A provisional certificate is not acceptable. *The certificate should be for the degree which is comparable to or is higher than the one offered at KUT (master's degree) after 18 years of education. (In the case you proceeded to the M. Phil program after Master's program, you should submit the certificate of your M. Phil program also.) |
5. | (1) Past fields of study in English --- Approximately 1 page (2) Research outline in English --- Research outline which you plan to do at KUT, approximately 1 page |
6. | Two signed recommendation letters in English/Japanese Use KUT official form. *Each recommendation letter must be an original with original hand-written signature by your referee in the last page of the form. Copies of singed letters are not accepted. |
7. | Original certificate of health in English/Japanese issued within the past 6 months Use KUT official form. For those who are affiliated with a university, organization or company in Japan and have an annual health checkup, health certificates in different formats are also acceptable. |
