My research interests are sports management and marketing. I focus in particular on the ways in which sports organizations can offer local communities social value which contributes to the shape of those communities. Local communities in Japan are facing a variety of complicated issues and need various forms of support to tackle those issues. I believe that sports organizations can contribute appropriate management to assist local communities in solving their problems. I’m also working to investigate the characteristics and needs of the various types of sports consumers, i.e. players, spectators and participants.
