We investigate the effects of irradiating semiconductor materials with energy beams (ion and electron) at nanoscale using accelerator and electron microscope. Evaluations are performed using a transmission electron microscope (TEM), which utilizes electron with short wavelength, rather than light, to examine materials at nanoscale (1 nm is one billionth of a meter). Besides studying the damage to materials caused by energy beam irradiation, we are also working on modifying materials and creating new nanomaterials under extreme non-equilibrium condition. Additionally, we are exploring the use of AI to analyze images obtained from electron microscope.
